Bruce Springsteen<\/strong> quickly recognized the challenges Jeremy Allen White<\/strong> faced while filming the biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere<\/em>. After White struggled to record one of The Boss’s iconic 1984 hits, Springsteen couldn\u2019t help but react with amusement, offering a priceless glimpse into the rocker\u2019s sense of humor.<\/p>\n In a new interview with The Los Angeles Times<\/a><\/em>, White opened up about the challenges of bringing key moments of Springsteen\u2019s life to the screen. Despite working closely with a vocal coach to capture the singer\u2019s voice, he admitted that certain recordings were particularly tough to master.<\/p>\n The actor explained, “I spent an afternoon singing ‘Born in the U.S.A.’ and I got a migraine and I lost my voice. He told the Times he realized he also needed to capture the essence of Springsteen’s iconic storytelling.<\/p>\n White explained, “I was so focused on just sounding like Bruce, and my coach,\u00a0Eric [Vetro<\/strong>], asks, ‘What are you singing about? What\u2019s the story? Where\u2019s Bruce coming from? Is he singing from his perspective? Is it about his childhood? Is he playing a character?’\u201d<\/p>\n The Bear<\/em> star admitted that he should have asked those questions first. However, he was “so anxious about sounding like [Bruce], I found myself blocked by the real thing, which was: ‘How can I just sing the song as honestly as possible?'”<\/p>\n
