Is Apple TV+\u2019s KPOPPED<\/em> getting a second season? Here\u2019s what the producers have to say!<\/p>\n

The music competition show premiered on Apple TV+ on Friday, August 29, and showcases the best of Western pop and K-pop in a series of sensational artist showdowns. Originally created to celebrate the global phenomenon that K-pop has become, KPOPPED<\/em> features a star-studded lineup, including acts like Boyz II Men, Megan Thee Stallion<\/strong><\/a> and ATEEZ.<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> sat down with producers Moira Ross<\/strong> and Jake Hong<\/strong> to see if a second season might be in the works, and what the new season might look like.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s New on Apple TV+ in August 2025: \u2018Chief of War\u2019 with Jason Momoa and More<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cWe’ve got a few little hopes for next season,\u201d Ross exclusively shared with Us<\/em> when asked about what stars might be featured on season 2. \u201cI think we’ve got a long, long wish list for sure.\u201d Though she wouldn\u2019t give any spoilers, it\u2019s clear she already has some ideas up her sleeve!<\/p>\n

The show\u2019s first season boasts some of Korea\u2019s best talent, including artists like ITZY, Kep1er and STAYC. These acts face off against some of the music industry\u2019s best, both old and new, including J Balvin<\/strong>, TLC and Patti LaBelle<\/strong>. Each artist competes to reimagine their greatest hits, with the winners determined by a vote from a live audience in Seoul, South Korea.<\/p>\n

Having worked as a showrunner for shows like The Voice UK<\/em> and The Masked Singer<\/em><\/a>, Ross anticipates a second season might bring about some new elements, including a voting system that would allow viewers to participate from the comfort of their homes.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that outside of the voting, whether or not that is a big part of the show, because it’s a celebration \u2026 we understand that maybe viewers would like to be part of that experience. So that’s a consideration that we would look into,\u201d Ross told Us<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think one main thing is maybe if we could have the public voting element. If we can figure it out, that’d be amazing,\u201d Hong told Us<\/em>. Ultimately, both Hong and Ross hope that the show continues to share their goal of encouraging cross-cultural collaboration in the music industry.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want this show not to be only a show for the K-pop fans, but a celebration for anyone who loves music,\u201d Hong said. \u201cAnyone, from cross-cultural [to] cross generational, anyone who loves music will, I believe, enjoy this show.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ross agreed: \u201cWe hope that it still appeals to all of the die-hard fans for all of the artists, [and] that it also brings in new fans in terms of this cross-cultural fusion.\u201d<\/p>\n

While nothing is set in stone yet, we\u2019re eager to see what epic collaborations season 2 might bring!<\/p>\n
