Noah Wyle<\/strong> has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy six times throughout his career \u2014 but his latest nod is particularly meaningful.<\/p>\n The actor, 54, was recently nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch in the HBO Max medical drama The Pitt<\/em>. Wyle is also nominated for Outstanding Drama Series as he is also an executive producer on the series.<\/p>\n Wyle’s nominations for The Pitt<\/em> come 26 years after he was last nominated for ER<\/em>. He was nominated in five consecutive years from 1995-1999 in the Supporting Actor in a Drama Series category for his role as Dr. John Carter, but never won.<\/p>\n During the HBO Max Nominee Celebration in Hollywood on Aug. 17, Wyle told People<\/em> he was “overwhelmed” by his nominations for The Pitt<\/em>.<\/p>\n RELATED: Noah Wyle to Receive Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n “I’m a little different when it hits. It’s hitting an older man, that’s for sure,” Wyle said. “And one who’s been around now for 30 years and done a lot of different things and has sort of… I’m overwhelmed by this.”<\/p>\n “I gave up hope that this was going to be something that my career was going to be part of again, that this focus would beyond my work.
