Foxtel has poached Paramount and Network Ten veteran programming executive Daniel Monaghan for the role of executive director, overseeing entertainment content, strategy and channels across Foxtel and Binge.<\/p>\n

Monaghan, currently senior VP, content & programming at Paramount ANZ and will commence his new role in February 2026, succeeding\u00a0Wendy Moore<\/a>, who announced she was stepping down in June, after six years in the role.<\/p>\n

Foxtel staff were informed of the appointment today via an internal email from the chief of Foxtel, Binge and Kayo Sports, Hilary Perchard stating that the new appointment reflected the group\u2019s \u201congoing commitment\u201d to entertainment services.<\/p>\n

\u201cDan brings a wealth of experience from his current role as senior vice-president, content & programming at Paramount ANZ. Over nearly two decades, he has been instrumental in shaping the programming strategy for Network 10 and Paramount+, driving significant audience engagement and revenue growth across the business,\u201d Perchard said.<\/p>\n

Perchard added Monaghan\u2019s directive at Foxtel Group would be to lead the entertainment content team to ensure its entire programming offering continued to \u201cset the benchmark for premium and engaging programming.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe team will continue to deliver compelling stories that captivate audiences, champion Australian voices, and share Australian stories with the world,\u201d Perchard added.<\/p>\n

Paramount ANZ have yet to comment but will be making an announcement in due course.<\/p>\n

During his tenure at Ten and Paramount, Monaghan navigated changes in ownership and content strategy over two decades in senior leadership roles.<\/p>\n

At Paramount+, he drove the streamer\u2019s local commissioning slate of originals across scripted, unscripted and kids\u2019 content, with programming including Fake,\u00a0Last King of the Cross and NCIS: Sydney.<\/p>\n

Most recently he commissioned<\/a> Hoodlum original, Two Years Later, an eight-part romantic drama set during and after the Covid-19 pandemic and directed by Emma Freeman; and drove the co-production between 10 and Channel 5\u2019s new four-part Australian drama series,\u00a0Imposter, produced by Fremantle and currently being shot in Melbourne and starring Dani Minogue.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
