Feelings and this life ain\u2019t ever gonna be something that gets easier. <\/p>\n \u201cI miss my babies and my family and the man I\u2019m set on being I\u2019ve never had the courage to be,\u201d he continued. \u201cBut lately I\u2019ve learned I let my fragile mind override my heart at times and tonight it got the best of me. I apologize for the bad days \u2026 but I\u2019m grateful for the countless good nights we\u2019ve shared this year. It\u2019s been the most consistent streak I\u2019ve seen in years. Day one of another one starts today. Gods got more in store and he\u2019s restoring my strength as we speak.\u201d<\/p>\n Martin then said he thought it was time for him \u201cto slow down a lil and get back to writing song and getting the help I need.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not ever proud when I reach for another drink,\u201d he added. \u201cHope yall can find it in you to forgive me and hope I can be a better version of myself with some prayer and love,\u201d he added. \u201cAnd I appreciate yall believing in a broken old soul like me.\u201d<\/p>\n Whiskey Riff said that Rensselaer County Sheriff Kyle Bourgault released a statement wishing Martin well.<\/p>\n \u201cAddiction is a disease, and it require both accountability and empathy,\u201d he wrote. \u201cMy hope is that Mr. Martin receives the resources and support he needs to overcome this struggle and continue to share his gift of music with fans in a healthier way.\u201d<\/p>\n Whiskey Riff noted that Martin, who worked on oil rigs and was even a bull rider before getting into music, has a history of addiction.
