Devon Walker thinks fans are overreacting to the cast changes for Saturday Night Live<\/em> ahead of Season 51. After it was announced thathe and three other cast members would be exiting the NBC sketch comedy show this fall, Walker, 34, took to social media to calm down fans who were freaking out over the shakeup and calling it \u201ca bloodbath.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cYall acting like we died lol we just getting different jobs,\u201d Walker wrote on X<\/a>.<\/p>\n Walker also had a response to speculation that he was fired from the show instead of exiting on his own. \u201cThey keep trying to tell my story like they work in the building smh,\u201d he wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, Walker announced in an Instagram post<\/a> that he was leaving the show after a three-season run. \u201cMe and my baby broke up,\u201d he captioned a photo from the SNL<\/em> set. The comedian described his run on the series as \u201creally cool\u201d and \u201ctoxic as hell.\u201d<\/p>\n He later clarified on his Instagram stories<\/a> that his exit was \u201cgood news.\u201d \u201cIt was just time for me to do something different. Please do not be hitting me with all the \u2018I\u2019m so sorry\u2019 we not on that AT ALL,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Within days of Walker\u2019s exit announcement, three more SNL<\/em> stars were reported to be leaving the show: Emil Wakim, who joined the cast for Season 50; longtime cast member Heidi Gardner; and Michael Longfellow, who joined the show in Season 48 alongside Walker.<\/p>\n On Aug. 28, Walker posted a photo montage<\/a> of himself and Longfellow as a duo with the caption \u201c!!!!!!!!!!!!!!\u201d<\/p>\n The surviving SNL<\/em> cast\u2014as of now\u2014 includes Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, Marcello Hern\u00e1ndez, James Austin Johnson, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman, Kenan Thompson, Bowen Yang, and \u201cWeekend Update\u201d duo Michael Che and Colin Jost, as well as featured players Ashley Padilla and Jane Wickline.<\/p>\n In an interview with Puck<\/em><\/a>, SNL<\/em> showrunner Lorne Michaels teased that there would be a shakeup for Season 51 after intentionally keeping the core cast intact for the show\u2019s 50th anniversary celebration.
