{"id":1991293,"date":"2025-09-01T14:33:19","date_gmt":"2025-09-01T14:33:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/?p=1991293"},"modified":"2025-09-01T14:33:19","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T14:33:19","slug":"rock-of-love-alum-kelsey-bateman-dead-at-39-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/celebrity.land\/en\/rock-of-love-alum-kelsey-bateman-dead-at-39-report\/","title":{"rendered":"Rock of Love Alum Kelsey Bateman Dead at 39: Report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Former <em>Rock of Love<\/em> contestant <strong>Kelsey Bateman<\/strong> has reportedly died at age 39.<\/p>\n<p>Family sources told <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tmz.com\/2025\/08\/31\/rock-of-love-star-kelsey-bateman-dies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>TMZ<\/em><\/a> on Sunday, August 31, that Bateman died \u201cunexpectedly,\u201d though her cause and date of her death have not been revealed.<\/p>\n<p>Bateman appeared on the third and final season of <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/bret-michaels\/\"><em>Rock of Love With Brett Michaels<\/em><\/a>, the VH1 <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/reality-tv\/\">reality show<\/a> where competitors vied to be the girlfriend of Michaels, 62, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/news\/bret-michaels-recalls-life-threateningly-tough-early-days-of-poison\/\">lead singer of the band Poison<\/a>. On Bateman\u2019s season, which aired in 2009, the contestants lived on tour buses and traveled with the singer.<\/p>\n<p>She was 21 at the time her season was filmed and placed ninth. The 2009 Penthouse Pet of the Year, <strong>Taya Parker<\/strong>, ultimately won the season. In Bateman\u2019s elimination episode, the contestants participated in truck stop games for the right to earn a date with Michaels. She admitted to getting \u201ctoo wasted\u201d in that episode, which resulted in her breaking down in tears, prompting Michaels to determine she was too young to continue in the game.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI ended up laying on a speed bump bawling my eyes out, but you know what? I\u2019m here and I\u2019m ready for whatever Brett has to say to me,\u201d Bateman said in a confessional. \u201cBut I mean, hey, I can\u2019t be the only girl that\u2019s got drunk and laid on a speed bump. Let\u2019s be honest.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Michaels alter told Bateman, \u201cAt some point I looked over during the concert and you were no longer there. I think you\u2019re awesome and a beautiful girl, and I said sometimes I have to make decisions for people. Nikki McKibbin, who appeared alongside Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini on season 1, died in November 2020 at the age of 42.\u00a0The\u00a0Fear Factor\u00a0alum, who finished in third place on the competition\u2019s debut season [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Bateman later revealed she had plans to \u201cgo home\u201d and \u201cbe single\u201d after her elimination. \u201cI\u2019m not going to think about guys for a while, but the next guy I find definitely won\u2019t be 44 and probably not a rock star,\u201d she said in a confessional.<\/p>\n<p>A representative for Michaels did not immediately respond to a request for comment from <em>Us Weekly<\/em>. <em>Us<\/em> has also reached out to police in Salt Lake City, where Bateman appeared to be living, according to her Facebook page.<\/p>\n<p><em>Rock of Love<\/em> ended after season 3 and was replaced by the docuseries <em>Bret Michaels: Life as I Know I<\/em>t. He proposed to longtime on-again, off-again girlfriend <strong>Kristi Lynn Gibson<\/strong> on the series finale in 2010, though the two separated in 2012.
