DANVILLE \u2014 Red Mask Players Children\u2019s Theater presents \u201cChanneling Grimm\u201d by Tracy Wells on Sept. 5-7 at the Kathryn Randolph Theater in Danville.<\/p>\n

The Grimm Brothers hit the small screen. Cameron (Silas Reeves) doesn\u2019t know what to write for an honors English assignment on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm. Luckily, friend Jaime (Mina Stites) has the solution \u2014 watch TV versions of the tales. But when Cameron points the unusual looking remote at the screen, expecting Netflix or Apple TV, instead they find the wackiest assortment of fairy-tale themed programming.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a Project Runway style competition show called \u201cProject Ballgown,\u201d a Frog Prince soap opera called \u201cThe Green and the Beautiful,\u201d a game show hosted by Magic Mirror (Victor Hasty) called \u201cWho\u2019s the Fairest One of All?,\u201d and a sitcom starring Rumpelstiltskin (Jack Siddens). The teens also find news stories, a Law and Order style show, a movie trailer, and, of course, commercials.<\/p>\n

Other cast members include Cassandra Becker, Addi Cahill, Ella Drollinger, Eli Foster, Lydia Gouty, Kaden Johnson, Aiden Koniecski, Quintas Barnett Lasam, Adryona McDuffee, Harper Musk, Lennox Musk, Angelina Nguyen, Izzy O\u2019Connor, Liza Pratt, Daisy Reeves, Paisley Reitsma, Willow Richardson, EmmaLee Siddens, Kenzee Smith, Zofia White.<\/p>\n

Director Jill Poggendorf says, \u201cChanneling Grimm has 51 roles played by 24 young actors,\u2019\u2019 said Director Jill Poggendorf in a news release. \u201cThey switch characters so quickly and effortlessly that every scene feels fresh and full of surprises \u2014 I can\u2019t wait for audiences to see their creativity on stage!\u201d<\/p>\n

All tickets are $10. Friday\u2019s performance begins at 7 p.m. Saturday\u2019s performances are at 2 and 7 p.m. Sunday\u2019s performance begins at 2 p.m. The play runs approximately one hour.<\/p>\n
