Elle King<\/a> is opening up about the \u201crock bottom\u201d moment she had while singing at a concert celebrating Dolly Parton\u2019s<\/a> 78th birthday last year. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n King spoke about being in a period of depression at that point in her life and said things \u201call just kind of came to a head.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI think it was probably just rock bottom,\u201d said the daughter of \u201cSaturday Night Live<\/a>\u201d star Rob Schneider. \u201cIf it wasn\u2019t that, it was gonna be something else.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n King said she was in a \u201cdark situation that I can\u2019t talk about,\u201d related to a relationship at the time, and had already played one \u201cperfect\u201d show the day of the performance. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n To make matters worse, she shared that she \u201chadn\u2019t eaten\u201d and hadn\u2019t slept in days, and was suffering from \u201cbad anxiety.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI took one shot of tequila when I had been drinking a martini,\u201d she said, explaining, \u201cI was like the tiniest I\u2019d ever been.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cAnd boom! I come to and like the curtain\u2019s down, and it sucks \u2015 it\u2019s awful,\u201d she said. \u201cI never want to cry like that in a car ride home. I never want to wake up feeling like that ever again. I never want to feel that shame.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cAny time Dolly Parton calls you is cool, but like I didn\u2019t want it to be under those circumstances,\u201d King said, adding that the legendary singer \u201ccalled me to make me feel better.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n In a previous interview with comedian Chelsea Handler, King said she delivered handwritten apology letters<\/a> to both Parton and the Grand Ole Opry, the legendary country venue where Parton\u2019s birthday performances were held. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
