Farhana Bhula<\/a> is the new director of Film4, U.K. broadcaster Channel 4<\/a>\u2018s feature film division, the company said on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Bhula has served as interim director of Film4 since July, following the news of Ollie Madden\u2019s departure<\/a>. \u201cShe will take up the role immediately, following an extensive external recruitment process,\u201d Channel 4 said.<\/p>\n More from The Hollywood Reporter<\/strong><\/p>\n The executive joined Film4 in January 2022 as senior commissioning executive, later becoming head of creative & deputy director. She has overseen such film projects as Molly Manning Walker\u2019s debut feature\u00a0How to Have Sex<\/em>, Andrew Haigh\u2019s\u00a0All of Us Strangers<\/em>, plus such upcoming titles as Mark Jenkin<\/a>\u2019s\u00a0Rose of Nevada<\/em>,\u00a0Oliver Hermanus\u2019\u00a0The History of Sound<\/em>,\u00a0and Philippa Lowthorpe\u2019s\u00a0H Is for Hawk<\/em>.<\/p>\n Bhula launched Future Takes in partnership with the BFI, currently in its second iteration, to support and nurture emerging talent.<\/p>\n \u201cFollowing the success of\u00a0How to Have Sex<\/em>, Molly Manning Walker has reunited with the channel on her upcoming TV series\u00a0Major Players<\/em>\u00a0with A24, which Farhana will work on alongside the Channel 4 drama team,\u201d the broadcaster said on Tuesday. \u201cFarhana will remain on Channel 4\u2019s executive team and senior leadership team, reporting to Martin Baker, chief commercial affairs officer, who has assumed interim responsibility for Film4 under [Channel 4] interim CEO Jonathan Allan<\/a> and led the external recruitment process.\u201d<\/p>\n Said Allan:\u00a0\u201cFarhana has been a key part of Film4\u2019s success for the last three years, working closely with Ollie Madden.
