Cardi B<\/strong><\/a> was found not liable in the civil lawsuit brought forth<\/a> by security guard Emani Ellis<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in 2020, in which she accused the rapper of assault two years prior.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, September 2, Cardi B (real named Belcalis Marlenis Alm\u00e1nzar) was cleareed of assault and battery charges in the civil case against her.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to thank my lawyers,\u201d Cardi, 32, said during a press conference after the verdict was read in court, via TMZ<\/em><\/a>. She thanked her fans and the jurors as well as \u201ceverybody at home supporting me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The musician once again claimed her innocence outside the courthouse, saying, \u201cI did not touch that woman.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCardi B recently testified in court for a civil trial that stems from a 2020 lawsuit brought forth by a security guard accusing the rapper of assault. Cardi (real name, Belcalis Marlenis Alm\u00e1nzar) has denied all wrongdoing, claiming the plaintiff \u2014 who is seeking $24 million \u2014 is looking for a payout. The rapper, 32, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She then issued a warning for future people who might be thinking of suing her. \u201cThis time around I\u2019m going to be nice,\u201d Cardi said. \u201cThe next person to try and do a frivolous lawsuit against me I\u2019m going to countersuit and I\u2019m going to make you pay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ellis sued Cardi in 2020, claiming the rapper assaulted her outside of a Beverly Hills medical office in 2018.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCardi B had a blunt response for a reporter who asked if she was pregnant with her fourth child amid her assault lawsuit. The rapper, 32, gave photographers the middle finger while she was entering the courthouse where her civil trial is taking place in Alhambra, California, on Tuesday, September 2. Ellis alleged that Cardi, who was then four-months pregnant with her first baby, cut her face with her fingernail, used racial slurs and spit on her face during the alleged incident. (Cardi shares daughters Kulture and Blossom<\/a>, born in 2018 and 2024, respectively, and son Wave, born in 2021, with ex-husband Offset<\/strong><\/a>.)<\/p>\n

In the lawsuit<\/a>, Ellis accused Cardi of assault and battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and false imprisonment following the incident. She also claimed that Cardi \u201cused her celebrity status\u201d to get Ellis fired from her job.<\/p>\n
