A former royal butler shared alleged details into Prince William<\/strong><\/a> and Princess<\/strong> Kate Middleton<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s brief 2007 split.<\/p>\n

In an interview with People<\/em><\/a>, published on Tuesday, September 2, Grant Harrold<\/strong> claimed he witnessed William and Kate, both 43, rekindle their romance over a \u201cprivate Valentine\u2019s meal\u201d in February 2008 after separating for several months. (The couple began dating in 2003 after meeting as university students in 2001.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was just the two of them,\u201d Harrold, who claimed to have served as a butler to King Charles<\/strong> from 2004 to 2011 and worked alongside William and Kate as they enjoyed their meal, said. \u201cIt was really nice, quite special actually.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also reflected on how the alleged meal changed the pair. \u201cBefore, they weren\u2019t [really] holding hands \u2014 it was very much William\u2019s friend. After that, when they got back together, it absolutely changed, and it was very much them as a couple,\u201d Harrold said. \u201cSomething changed, and you knew they were a couple, and from then on, it was very much a waiting game.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tFormer royal butler Grant Harrold is offering new insight into Prince Harry\u2019s relationship with his sister-in-law, Princess Kate Middleton. \u201cThey involved him,\u201d Harrold, 47, wrote in his upcoming book The Royal Butler: My Remarkable Life of Royal Service, according to an excerpt published by The Telegraph on Monday, August 18. \u201cHe used to go out [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Harrold added that once the couple got back together, he \u201cwas convinced they would get married.\u201d William and Kate\u2019s wedding<\/a> was held three years later on April 29, 2011.<\/p>\n

The former staffer also reflected on the alleged chemistry he felt between William and Kate, who now share three children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you saw them together and see them get on as friends, although they were in love, they are also absolutely best friends,\u201d Harrold said before comparing the couple to William\u2019s grandparents, the late Queen Elizabeth<\/strong> and Prince Philip<\/strong>. (Queen Elizabeth died in 2022 at the age of 96, while Prince Philip died in 2021 at age 99.)<\/p>\n

\u201cTheir relationship was similar,\u201d Harrold explained. \u201cThey were best friends who worked together as a team.\u201d<\/p>\n
