Taylor Swift has a knack for breaking records\u2014sometimes even her own. The megastar\u2019s upcoming album, The Life of a Showgirl<\/em>, has already become the most pre-saved album in Spotify history, more than a month before its release.<\/p>\n Her 12th studio album, the record is due to drop on October 3. Swift shared the news last month during her appearance on the New Heights<\/em> podcast<\/a>, hosted by her now-fianc\u00e9 Travis Kelce and his brother.<\/p>\n This week, Spotify announced<\/a> that the upcoming album has already broken the previous record for the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in the streamer\u2019s history. And the previous record-holder was\u2014unsurprisingly\u2014also Taylor Swift, for The Tortured Poets Department<\/em> last year.<\/p>\n Swift released TTPD<\/em> in April last year<\/a>, initially as a 16-track record\u2014only to surprise fans with the release of an extended version just hours later. The \u201canthology\u201d edition featured a whopping 35 tracks.<\/p>\n But her new release won\u2019t feature as many tracks as her last one. In fact, Swift revealed during the album\u2019s announcement that it won\u2019t contain any bonus tracks.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not like The Tortured Poets Department<\/em> where I was like, \u2018Here\u2019s a data dump of everything I thought or felt in two or three years. Here\u2019s 31 songs.\u2019 This is 12,\u201d she explained. \u201cThere\u2019s not a 13th, there\u2019s not a 14th, there\u2019s not other ones coming.\u201d<\/p>\n Shortly after announcing her new album, Swift announced her engagement<\/a> to Travis Kelce, with a series of photos on Instagram showing the couple and the massive rock on Swift\u2019s ring. Details of their upcoming nuptials have yet to be revealed.<\/p>\n <\/div>\nThe Tortured Poets Department<\/em> actually broke two streaming records on Spotify after its release, achieving 300 million plays in one day, and one billion in five days. Further, it made Swift the first artist in history to hold the top 14 spots on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/h4>\n
