Kate Cassidy, girlfriend of the late Liam Payne<\/a>, paid tribute to the One Direction star on what would\u2019ve been his 32nd birthday on Aug. 29. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In a moving post on Instagram<\/a> addressed to her \u201cdearest Liam,\u201d Cassidy said that it broke her heart that she couldn\u2019t \u201chand you a physical birthday card today.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThat I can\u2019t hear your laugh, or tell you all the things I wish I\u2019d said a thousand more times,\u201d she wrote. \u201cI\u2019ve been struggling to find the right words, but I\u2019ll start with the most obvious, happy birthday.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cToday, you would have been 32. In your 31 years here on this earth you brought so much joy, happiness and hope to so many- especially to me,\u201d Cassidy added. \u201cI hope you know how brightly you still shine, even from up there. I would give up years of my life just to give you a few more. I miss making memories with you. I miss having things to look forward to together.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She ended her message by telling Payne that she would \u201ccelebrate you extra today, honor your life, and cherish the beautiful times we\u2019ve had.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cAugust 29th will be a date that sits in my heart for the rest of my life. I love you so much,\u201d she said, signing her note, \u201cYours, Katelyn.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI remember sitting there with him and I was going on and on and on and saying to Liam how much I love him,\u201d she said in an interview on Jay Shetty\u2019s \u201cOn Purpose\u201d podcast in April. \u201cHe laughed and he interrupted me and he just said, \u2018Kate, like, you\u2019re gonna miss your flight. Your car is in the driveway. You\u2019re acting like this is the last time you\u2019re ever going to see me again.\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Cassidy said at the time she \u201claughed back\u201d in response to his comment. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
