But reminder that the pair actually broke up back in Spring 2007\u2014and now William’s former butler, Grant Harrold, is spilling everything he saw go down behind the scenes when they got back together.<\/p>\n Apparently Grant served Kate and William a private Valentine’s dinner in 2008 when they were rekindling their relationship. “It was just the two of them. It was really nice, quite special actually,” he said, per People<\/a><\/em>, adding that it was “a romantic dinner for them, they very much interacted with me throughout.”<\/p>\n Grant noted that before that dinner “they weren\u2019t [really] holding hands \u2014 it was very much William\u2019s friend. After that, when they got back together, it absolutely changed, and it was very much them as a couple. Something changed, and you knew they were a couple, and from then on, it was very much a waiting game… After they got back together, I was convinced they would get married.
