Alien: Earth<\/a><\/strong> creator Noah Hawley recently revealed who voices MU-TH-UR in the series ahead of the release of Episode 5 after speculation that it could be Sigourney Weaver<\/strong>. The FX series acts as a prequel to the 1979 Alien movie by Ridley Scott, which stars Weaver in the lead role. The show features a massive ensemble cast including Timothy Olyphant, Sydney Chandler, Samuel Blenkin, and many more.<\/p>\n

Noah Hawley confirms Sigourney Weaver did not voice Muthur in Alien: Earth<\/h2>\n

Alien: Earth creator Noah Hawley recently spoke with Collider<\/a> before the release of Episode 5 and revealed numerous details about the series.<\/p>\n

During the discussion, Hawley was asked if the star of the original 1979 Alien film, Sigourney Weaver, was the person who voices MU-TH-UR in the series. Hawley said, \u201cIt\u2019s not. It\u2019s not Sigourney.\u201d Speaking of who voiced the MU-TH-UR, the creator disclosed, \u201cOne of our editors, Robin [August], is the voice of MU-TH-UR, and it started out as\u2026 in post, someone\u2019s got to say it, and so she temped in, and then, of course, we tried to cast the voice from voice performers, and no one was as good as her. So she\u2019s now in the show as well.\u201d<\/p>\n

MU-TH-UR is an artificial intelligence that helped to run Weaver\u2019s character\u2019s ship in the original 1979 Alien movie, the USCSS Nostromo.<\/p>\n

While speaking with Deadline<\/a> about how the ship in Episode 5 is a tribute to the Nostromo, Hawley said, \u201cIt\u2019s literally the same thing. We used the original blueprints. Most of the rooms, the bridge, the mess hall, hallways, they\u2019re literally copied from the Nostromo. The cryo-chamber is bigger, though, and the comms room is bigger. The first thing that you need to establish in translating something from film to television is authenticity. And so it has to feel like Alien. We have to show the audience, not only is this Alien, but it\u2019s Ridley Scott\u2019s Alien.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
