Paris Jackson wants to be excused from the narrative that she was involved in Michael Jackson\u2019s biopic, and is calling Colman Domingo out for his recent comments about her.<\/p>\n
Domingo is set to play the Jackson family patriarch, Joe Jackson, in\u00a0Michael,\u00a0and during the amfAR benefit gala at the Venice Film Festival, said that Paris and her brother, Prince Jackson, had been supportive of the <\/span>film.<\/p>\n More from Deadline<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019re very much in support of our film,\u201d Domingo told People<\/a> about Michael\u2019s children. \u201cI\u2019m excited to be here at amfAR tonight with Paris. It feels like that\u2019s a nice way for us to be together.\u201d<\/p>\n The Euphoria actor also noted that Paris had been \u201clovely\u201d to him.<\/p>\n Taking to her Instagram Stories, Paris explained to what extent she was involved in the Michael biopic.<\/p>\n \u201c[Colman Domingo], don\u2019t be telling people I was \u2018helpful\u2019 on the set of a movie I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird,\u201d Paris posted.<\/p>\n In a second post, Paris added, \u201cI read one of the first drafts of the script and gave my notes about what was dishonest \/ didn\u2019t sit right with me, and when they didn\u2019t address it, I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys, not my circus. God bless and God speed.\u201d<\/p>\n Paris Jackson denies involvement in Michael Jackson biopic<\/p>\n After Paris\u2019s comments were picked up, she further clarified her participation in the Michael biopic, adding, \u201cI wasn\u2019t involved at all, aside from giving feedback on the first draft and then getting the feedback that [production] was not actually going to address your notes at all.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cSo I just butted out and left it alone because it\u2019s not my project,\u201d she said. \u201cThey\u2019re going to make whatever they\u2019re going to make. A big reason why I haven\u2019t said anything up until this point is because I know a lot of you guys are gonna be happy with it. A big section of the film panders to a very specific section of my dad\u2019s fandom that still lives in the fantasy, and they\u2019re gonna be happy with it.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued, \u201cThe thing about these biopics is \u2014 it\u2019s Hollywood. So it\u2019s fantasy land. It\u2019s not real but it\u2019s sold to you as real and a lot of suger coated \u2026 the narrative is being controlled and there\u2019s a lot of inaccuracy and there\u2019s a lot of just full-blown lies. At the end of the day, that doesn\u2019t really fly with me. I don\u2019t really like dishonesty. I spoke up. I wasn\u2019t heard. I fucked off. That\u2019s it. Y\u2019all are gonna like the fucking movie. So just go watch it. Go enjoy it. Do whatever. Leave me out of it.\u201d<\/p>\n Paris noted that she\u2019s read people saying she resents her father, otherwise she would be involved with the film, but says that she would rather not take part in \u201ca movie that\u2019s filled with inaccuracies,\u201d adding, \u201cThat\u2019s not my truth. That\u2019s not where I\u2019m coming from. I just prefer honesty over sales and monetary gain. I kind of just don\u2019t want anything to do with that. So I\u2019m gonna fuck off again and I\u2019m gonna keep minding my business. I suggest you do the same.\u201d<\/p>\n The musician also clarified that she had only met Domingo twice, \u201conce at a birthday party and once at the amfAR thing the other night,\u201d noting that \u201cboth were hella brief interactions.\u201d<\/p>\n Lionsgate and Universal\u2019s Michael biopic is set to be released on Friday, April 24, 2026<\/a>.
