\u201cBringing Up Bates\u201d star Erin Bates, 34, was flooded with prayers for recovery after she was admitted into the Intensive Care Unit for septic shock that her husband said happened shortly after an intense birth to their \u201cmiracle\u201d son.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cHer labor was longer and more intense than previous births,\u201d Bates\u2019 husband Chad Paine, 38, wrote on Instagram Monday. \u201cShe has been fighting through it and has been such a light and sweet testimony of grace to nurses, staff, and doctors alike.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Bates is one of Gil and Kelly Jo Bates\u2019 19 children who were featured in UPtv\u2019s \u201cBringing Up Bates\u201d before it was canceled in 2022. Her family has ties to \u201c19 Kids And Counting\u201d Duggar family<\/a> whose conservative religious faith and <\/span>controversies<\/span><\/a> were exposed in Amazon Prime Video\u2019s \u201c<\/span>Shiny Happy People: Duggar Family Secrets<\/span><\/a>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Bates had previously opened up about enduring several miscarriages due to blood-clotting issues in an <\/span>interview with People<\/span><\/a> in 2015, calling the experience \u201cone of the hardest things.\u201d <\/span> <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cYou build up all these expectations, and you prepare, and you have the date in your mind, and it\u2019s just \u2015 it\u2019s heartbreaking when that ends. It\u2019s like your world\u2019s been crushed,\u201d she told the outlet. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Despite the heartbreak, the pair went on to have children, and in 2021 <\/span>opened up<\/span><\/a> once again about Bate\u2019s health, which they said \u201cled to multiple surgeries.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cAfter consulting with our doctor, we realized having another baby was not going to be in our future,\u201d the couple said announcing Bates\u2019 fifth pregnancy.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIt was sad, just because we both really love kids, but we knew Erin\u2019s health was a priority, and we were just so overwhelmingly grateful for the four little blessings we had already been entrusted with,\u201d the couple continued.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The couple went on to have seven children, and first mentioned Bates\u2019 recent birth complications last week when they welcomed their son, Henry Blythe. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Paine updated fans and followers on Monday saying Henry is doing well in the neonatal intensive care unit. However, his wife developed a severe UTI and kidney infection following the birth which resulted in <\/span>septic shock<\/span><\/a>, a syndrome where an infection in the body leads to dangerously low blood pressure.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cShe is currently still in the ICU as doctors continue to treat, diagnose, and search for answers,\u201d Paine wrote. \u201cWe would covet your prayers for this beautiful girl who is such a light in a dark world.\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The couple did not immediately respond to celebrity.land when reached out for an update on Bate\u2019s health Wednesday. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n The post was flooded by friends, fans and family members who wished for Bates\u2019 recovery. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cShe really is a light here!
