Brisbane-born, Melbourne-based singer-songwriter Hatchie <\/strong>\u2013 the project of Harriette Pilbeam<\/strong> \u2013 is back, today announcing her highly anticipated new album, Liquorice<\/em>.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n The follow-up to 2022\u2019s Giving The World Away<\/em> (and the 2023 deluxe edition<\/a>), Hatchie\u2019s forthcoming album will be released on Friday, 7 November, via Secretly Canadian<\/strong>. You can pre-order\/pre-save the album here<\/a>.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n Along with the album announcement, she\u2019s dropped the dreamy new single, Lose It Again<\/em>. For the new single, Hatchie co-wrote the track with Jeremy McLennan<\/strong> (Orchin<\/strong>), and she\u2019s just unveiled a music video from her longtime collaborator and partner, Joe Agius<\/strong>, which you can watch below.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n Hatchie collaborated closely with artist and producer Melina Duterte<\/strong> (also known as Jay Som<\/strong>) on Liquorice<\/em>, recording in Duterte\u2019s home studio. She also joined forces with Stella Mozgawa<\/strong> (Warpaint<\/strong>, Courtney Barnett<\/strong>) on drums, while the album was mixed by Alex Farrar<\/strong> (Wednesday<\/strong>, MJ Lenderman<\/strong>) and mastered by Greg Obis<\/strong> (Dutch Interior<\/strong>, Slow Pulp<\/strong>, Wishy<\/strong>).<\/p>\n <\/div>\n After living in Los Angeles, Hatchie and Agius stepped away from touring. They returned to Australia, where Hatchie reassessed her priorities and had time to focus on her friends and family. As a result, Liquorice <\/em>reflects the comfort Hatchie feels in her own skin, content with where she\u2019s at in life.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n She began working on Liquorice <\/em>while living in Brisbane in 2022-2023 and continued working on the album from Melbourne. I\u2019ve never felt more aligned with an album and can\u2019t wait to share the experience with everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/div>\n She added, \u201cUltimately, the inspiration for the album came from living a very simple life and having time to reconnect with myself and be alone with my thoughts.
