Todd &#8220;has been released&#8221; from Florida&#8217;s federal prison in Pensacola, an FBP spokesperson said. An hour later, the agency announced Julie was released from federal custody in Lexington, Kentucky.<\/p>\n<p>The family&#8217;s legal representative said in a statement that both Chrisleys are on the &#8220;way home to Nashville.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the day, the president signed paperwork granting full pardons to the &#8220;<a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2025\/05\/28\/todd-julie-chrisley-family-chrisley-knows-best\/83895875007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Chrisley Knows Best<\/a>&#8221; stars, a White House official confirmed to USA TODAY. The <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/pardon\/media\/1402006\/dl?inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pardons<\/a> are now <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/pardon\/media\/1401921\/dl?inline\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">available<\/a> on the Department of Justice&#8217;s <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/pardon\/clemency-grants-president-donald-j-trump-2025-present\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">website<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On May 27, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/margomartin47\/status\/1927470034688839944?s=46\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trump called<\/a> the Chrisleys&#8217; middle daughter, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2024\/08\/22\/savannah-chrisley-email-mom-julie-legal-battle\/74900709007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Savannah Chrisley<\/a>, to let her know her parents were &#8220;going to be free and clean, and I hope we can do it by tomorrow.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">Why were Todd and Julie Chrisley in jail?<\/h2>\n<p>The couple, who documented their family life on USA Network reality shows, <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2024\/09\/25\/julie-chrisley-resentenced-7-years-in-prison\/75381523007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">had been in prison<\/a> since January 2023, serving up to 10 years for using fraudulent loans to defraud community banks in Georgia.<\/p>\n<p>Their 2022 conviction also found them guilty of defrauding the IRS and committing tax evasion; Julie Chrisley was additionally convicted of obstruction of justice and wire fraud.<\/p>\n<p>According to an amended forfeiture order from 2024 reviewed by USA TODAY, Todd Chrisley was found to have &#8220;received a total of $17,270,741.57 in proceeds as a result of committing the offense of conviction&#8221; and was ordered to forfeit that amount to the government.<\/p>\n<p>Julie Chrisley had been ordered to pay $4,740,645.04 restitution before the full pardon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"related-link\"><span class=\"exclude-from-newsgate\"><strong style=\"margin-right:3px\">The sprawling reality TV family: <\/strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2025\/05\/28\/todd-julie-chrisley-family-chrisley-knows-best\/83895875007\/\" rel=\"noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">See where &#8216;Chrisley Knows Best&#8217; stars are now<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"presto-h2 wp-block-heading\">How long were the Chrisleys in prison?<\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2022\/11\/21\/todd-chrisley-julie-chrisley-sentenced-bank-fraud\/10748126002\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Julie Chrisley<\/a>, 52, was serving her\u00a0seven-year\u00a0prison sentence\u00a0at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky. She was to also have three years&#8217; supervised release. Her most recent release date prior to the pardon was slated for January 2028.<\/p>\n<p>In September 2024, a federal judge <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/entertainment\/celebrities\/2024\/09\/25\/julie-chrisley-resentenced-7-years-in-prison\/75381523007\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">denied Julie&#8217;s bid for a reduced sentence<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Todd Chrisley, who&#8217;d initially received a 12-year sentence that was shortened to nine years by the time of his release, has been an inmate at\u00a0FPC Pensacola.
