Amazon\u2019s long-rumoured Tomb Raider television series<\/a> is officially moving forward, with Sophie Turner confirmed to take on the role of Lara Croft. The live-action adaptation, based on the legendary video game franchise, is scheduled to begin filming on 19 January, 2026.<\/p>\n The announcement follows months of uncertainty surrounding the project. Back in April, industry reports suggested that the series had been scrapped<\/a> after significant investment with little progress to show. The latest confirmation not only signals the revival of the series but also secures one of its most crucial elements: the casting of a new Lara Croft.<\/p>\n Turner, best known for her role as Sansa Stark in Game of Thrones, had been linked to the role since 2024, when she was named as a frontrunner alongside Lucy Boynton, known for her role as Mary Austin in Bohemian Rhapsody.
