The first trailer for Emerald Fennell’s adaptation<\/a> of Wuthering Heights has dropped, leaving fans with one major complaint.<\/p>\n Based on Emily Bront\u00eb’s classic novel, the upcoming film stars Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff and Margot Robbie as Catherine ‘Cathy’ Earnshaw.<\/p>\n Written, directed and produced by Fennell, the film also stars Adolescence actor Owen Cooper<\/a>, who plays a young Heathcliff, as well as Saltburn star Alison Oliver<\/a>, Magpie’s Shazad Latif, Hong Chau, and House of the Dragon star Ewan Mitchell.<\/p>\n Released yesterday, a striking new teaser trailer for the film gave us a glimpse at the cast while teasing a rather steamy relationship between Cathy and Heathcliff.<\/p>\n Fans of the novel took to the comment section on Instagram<\/a> to share their thoughts on the new teaser, with many saying it just doesn’t seem like Wuthering Heights.<\/p>\n Warner Bros.<\/span><\/p>\n Related: <\/strong>Best streaming services<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n “Did you read the same book as me because honestly it doesn\u2019t look like it,” questioned one fan, while another said: “Need to cleanse my eyes and senses by rereading the book after this teaser. PLS NO.”<\/p>\n Another puzzled viewer quipped: “Did we read the same book? You don’t understand. I AM SO EXCITED HELLO.”<\/p>\n “Low-key I love this? …there is so much NOT said in the book, and we have to fill in the blanks.
