Autopsy results have been released for the infant found dead in the closet of University of Kentucky competitive cheerleader Laken Snelling<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The baby\u2019s cause of death has been ruled inconclusive and \u201cextensive microscopic analyses are essential to determine the cause and manner of death,\u201d according to a report from the Fayette County Corner\u2019s Office obtained by Us Weekly <\/i>on Thursday, September 4.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI understand the community\u2019s concern and sensitivity surrounding the death of a child,\u201d Fayette County Coroner Gary Ginn<\/strong> said in the report. \u201cWe are conducting a thorough and methodical death investigation to ensure all facts are carefully considered.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Snelling, 21, was arrested on Saturday, August 30<\/a>, and charged with Abuse of a Corpse, Tampering with Physical Evidence and Concealing the Birth of an Infant.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tUniversity of Kentucky cheerleader Laken Snelling was arrested on Saturday, August 30, after an infant was found dead in a closet within her home. Days before she was taken into custody, police officers were sent to Snelling\u2019s home after receiving a call about an unresponsive infant. A local Kentucky outlet obtained an arrest citation stating [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A senior on the University of Kentucky\u2019s STUNT cheerleading team, Snelling pleaded not guilty<\/a> to all charges during an appearance in a Lexington, Kentucky courtroom on Tuesday, September 2.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The cheerleader was released on $100,000 and is now living on \u201chome incarceration with no ankle monitor\u201d with her parents in Jefferson City, Tennessee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Authorities were called to Snelling\u2019s home in Lexington on August 27, responding to a call about an unresponsive infant.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

According to an arrest citation obtained by LEX 18 News<\/a>, the \u201cinfant was located wrapped in a towel inside of a black trash bag.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

When Snelling was interviewed by authorities on the scene, she \u201cadmitted to giving birth\u201d and \u201cconcealing the birth by cleaning any evidence, placing all cleaning items used inside of a black trash bag, including the infant, who was wrapped in a towel.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The Lexington Police Department said they are \u201ccontinuing to investigate\u201d the infant\u2019s death.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Laken Snelling, 21, posted a slideshow of pictures via TikTok on June 18, showing the athlete and her partner posing in a field while wearing coordinating white outfits.\u00a0 Snelling [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A native of White Pine, Tennessee, Snelling had been a decorated member of the University of Kentucky\u2019s STUNT team, which specializes in \u201cthe technical and athletic components of cheer, including partner stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, group jumps and tumbling,\u201d according to USA Cheer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
