Princess M\u00e4rtha Louise<\/strong> of Norway\u2019s marriage to Shaman Durek Verrett<\/strong> is set to be explored in the upcoming Netflix documentary Rebel Royals<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cMarrying into the royal family, it\u2019s just very, very surreal,\u201d Verrett, 50, said in the documentary\u2019s trailer<\/a>, which dropped on Wednesday, September 3. \u201cWhen I met the queen and king, they were just staring at me.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple have made headlines all over the world for their unlikely courtship, which started in 2019 after they were introduced by friends. M\u00e4rtha Louise fell for Verrett first, claiming that she already knew him once they met. Verrett, meanwhile, was a bit more \u201capprehensive\u201d to start a relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought, \u2018Maybe I\u2019m going to end up with a man,\u2019\u201d he revealed in the documentary trailer. \u201cAs far as I\u2019m concerned, it doesn\u2019t matter if it\u2019s a male or a female, or it could be another being from another planet.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple went on to detail the ups and downs they\u2019ve faced in the public \u2014 with some critics claiming the princess was \u201cbrainwashed\u201d \u2014 ahead of their August 2024 wedding.<\/a><\/p>\n

Who Is Shaman Durek Verrett?<\/h2>\n

The celebrity shaman was endorsed by Gwyneth Paltrow<\/strong> and Goop, along with other stars, before marrying into Norway\u2019s royal family. Verrett describes himself as a sixth-generation shaman. His credentials have been questioned by critics, however, and members of the Norwegian press have claimed that he\u2019s conning the princess.<\/p>\n

Who Is Princess Martha Louise?<\/h2>\n

M\u00e4rtha Louise is the daughter of Harald V<\/strong>, the king of Norway, and his wife, Sonja Haraldsen<\/strong>, the queen of Norway. She is a self-proclaimed clairvoyant and a member of the Scandinavian country\u2019s royal family.<\/p>\n

Prior to her relationship with Verrett, the Norwegian royal was married to Ari Behn<\/strong> from 2002 to 2017. He died by suicide in December 2019 at age 47.<\/p>\n
