\u201cIt\u2019s got everything I dreamt of in a show,\u201d says The Tonight Show<\/i> <\/a>host Jimmy Fallon<\/a> of his brainchild, On Brand With Jimmy Fallon<\/em><\/a>, a competition series where 10 contestants work at his made-for-TV On Brand Agency.<\/p>\n

Each week, solo or in teams, they create a marketing campaign for big names like Dunkin\u2019 or Southwest Airlines and present it to company execs. Fallon\u2019s cohost is business-world titan Bozoma Saint John<\/a>, who headed marketing at power players Netflix<\/a>, Uber, and PepsiCo \u2014 and debuted as a breath of fresh air on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/a><\/i>\u2018 14th season, where fans loved her smarts and honesty. The hosts told us more, and even sang us a classic TV commercial jingle.<\/p>\n

Is this a real-life Mad Men<\/i><\/a>?<\/b><\/p>\n

Jimmy Fallon:<\/b> I mean, I\u2019m not as good-looking as Jon Hamm<\/a>, but Boz makes up for that. It\u2019s a love letter to ad agencies. We stick to the business more in this one. There\u2019s drama. It\u2019s funnier.<\/p>\n

Bozoma Saint John:<\/b> Better looking than Jon Hamm?! Come on, get out of here. Yeah, but it is a real-life Mad Men<\/i>. Less political warfare, a lot of good, friendly competition.<\/p>\n

Do all of the contestants come from a marketing background?<\/b><\/p>\n

Fallon:<\/b> One has a boutique ad agency. There\u2019s an influencer, a real estate agent. It\u2019s fascinating to watch everyone get in the ring. Everyone\u2019s got strengths. Some people will get on your nerves, some you\u2019ll have a crush on.<\/p>\n

Saint John:<\/b> They are regular people with regular jobs who have this amazing opportunity to bring things to life in the biggest way possible.<\/p>\n

With newbies, do campaigns ever go terribly wrong?<\/b><\/p>\n

Fallon:<\/b> My favorite part of American Idol<\/a><\/i> is the bad auditions. We have great ideas for these brands, but also some that don\u2019t work, and they are hilarious. Episode 1, the brand execs are looking at us like, \u201cWhat\u2019s happening?\u201d I was trying to hold in laughing.<\/p>\n

Saint John:<\/b> I kept elbowing him, like, \u201cJimmy, you\u2019re the boss. You cannot laugh at the people. You\u2019ve got to keep it together!\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

What was the learning curve for you as hosts?<\/b><\/p>\n

Fallon:<\/b> <\/span>Hosting a reality show is a different muscle than hosting a talk show \u2014 keeping the pace up, keeping it interesting. <\/span><\/p>\n
