A new indie movie filming in Central New York is seeking extras for a key scene.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Sentinel,\u201d written and directed by filmmaker and actor Joe Cunningham, is a new project centered on a combat veteran struggling to care for his young son while dealing with severe PTSD. At least 50 extras are needed for the film\u2019s final scene, which will be a wake.<\/p>\n
The scene will be shot Sunday, Sept. 7, at the American Legion Eastwood Post 1276 at 3701 James Street in Syracuse, N.Y., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Extras will be wake attendees and should dress accordingly, according to a casting call.<\/p>\n
If interested in participating, sign up at eventbrite.com\/e\/open-casting-call-the-sentinel-film-tickets-1602772568899<\/a> by Saturday.<\/p>\n Extras will not be paid, but will receive an IMDb credit, light snacks and beverages, and an invite to the premiere in 2026-2027.<\/p>\n The \u201cmagic of the movies is the other people,\u201d Cunningham said. \u201cExtras sell the scenes in movies.
