Lady Gaga<\/a><\/strong> has shared her highly anticipated new single \u201cThe Dead Dance,\u201d accompanied by a music video directed by Tim Burton. The song, along with previously CD-exclusive tracks, \u201cCan\u2019t Stop the High\u201d and \u201cKill For Love,\u201d has been added to her number one album, MAYHEM<\/em><\/a>, on streaming platforms.<\/span><\/p>\n The release coincides with her cameo as Rosaline Rotwood in the Netflix show Wednesday<\/span><\/em>, directed and executive-produced by Burton. <\/span>Gaga stumbled upon the <\/span>Wednesday<\/span><\/em> universe in 2022, when her song \u201cBloody Mary\u201d saw a resurgence after a video of the show\u2019s main character, Wednesday Adams (played by Jenna Ortega), dancing along to it went viral on social media. Now, in a full-circle moment followed by months of fan speculation, the singer-turned-actress returns to form in the dance floor-ready banger. <\/span><\/p>\n Known for frequently referencing monsters in her music, Gaga picks up where she left off with MAYHEM<\/em>, <\/span>a predominantly dark pop record with hits like \u201cDisease\u201d and \u201cAbracadabra<\/a>.\u201d On \u201cThe Dead Dance,\u201d she builds an eerie ambience in the verses with 80s-inspired synths before fully breaking into an irresistible disco-heavy chorus where she sings, \u201c\u2018Cause when you killed me inside \/ That\u2019s when I came alive \/ Yeah, the music\u2019s gonna bring me back from death \/ I\u2019m dancing until I\u2019m dead.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n While speaking to Tudum<\/a> about the meaning of the song, Gaga revealed:<\/p>\n \u201cThe inspiration for \u2018The Dead Dance\u2019 was a breakup, and it was all about the way that we sometimes feel when it\u2019s over; how a relationship ending can kill our ability to feel hopeful about love.
