Bringing Up Bates<\/em><\/a> star Erin Bates<\/strong><\/a> is still fighting for her life after going into septic shock<\/a> following the birth of her seventh baby with husband Chad Paine<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast night, Erin suffered a lengthy and severe seizure. Up to this point, Erins infection was getting better, but we found ourselves back in a place of heartache, uncertainty, and tears,\u201d Paine, 38, wrote via Instagram<\/a> on Thursday, September 4. \u201cShe is in the ICU, and the doctors are running scans and tests to determine the cause. Erin is extremely weak and spent hours only half conscious.\u201d<\/p>\n

Paine continued: \u201cAs her husband, it is one of the hardest things I\u2019ve ever faced \u2014 to sit by her side and watch her struggle while being so helpless to ease her suffering. I love her more deeply than words can express, and I can\u2019t even imagine life without my best friend. The hours have been long and heavy, and I know many hearts are aching to see her this way, along with mine. We hold on to faith that healing is coming, even in the midst of the unknown. Your prayers are felt and we are forever grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bates, 34, welcomed baby No. 7 on August 25 after \u201ca long and emotional labor,\u201d according to an Instagram post. \u201cHenry is doing wonderful, but we would so appreciate your prayers for Erin as she continues to recover from some complications,\u201d the caption continued alongside a photo of Bates and the newborn. \u201cWe thank the Lord for carrying us through and for the gift of this precious boy. \ud83d\udc99.\u201d<\/p>\n

He is doing well in the NICU and is our bundle of happiness,\u201d his message began. \u201cWe had asked for prayer for recovery for Erin due to complications. Her labor was longer and more intense than previous births. She has been fighting through it and has been such a light and sweet testimony of grace to nurses, staff and doctors alike. Paine explained that his wife \u201cdeveloped a severe UTI and kidney infection,\u201d causing septic shock. \u201cShe is currently still in the ICU as doctors continue to treat, diagnose and search for answers. We would covet your prayers for this beautiful girl who is such a light in a dark world,\u201d he wrote. \u201cWe are holding onto God\u2019s promises.\u201d<\/p>\n

Along with newborn Henry, Bates and Paine share Charles Steven IV, 10, Brooklyn Elise, 8, Everly Hope, 7, Holland Grace, 5, Finley Marie, 3, and William Gage, 20 months.<\/p>\n

Before Finley\u2019s birth, the former reality star, who married Paine in 2013, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> that conceiving a fifth baby would be \u201ca huge miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve had COVID twice and ever since the second time that I had it, I started having all of these female issues and it caused a lot of internal bleeding,\u201d Bates told Us<\/em> in 2021. \u201cSo with the first surgery, they just removed all of the blood. The second surgery, they ended up taking out one of my ovaries. And then the last surgery, they removed most of my second ovary. So right now, we\u2019re just dealing with trying to balance hormones with hormone therapy and stuff like that.\u201d<\/p>\n

At the time, Bates was experiencing \u201ccrazy\u201d hormones, \u201cnight sweats\u201d and \u201cmood swings,\u201d comparing her symptoms to menopause.<\/p>\n
