The Sex Pistols\u2019 first United States tour in 22 years<\/a> has been halted due to an injury among the band.<\/p>\n The band\u2019s tour was postponed after guitarist Steve Jones broke his wrist, singer Frank Carter wrote in an Instagram post<\/a> on Tuesday, Sept. 2.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have some unfortunate news to share about our upcoming North and South American performances,\u201d Carter wrote. \u201cWe\u2019ll let Steve explain what\u2019s going on.\u201d<\/p>\n The post then included a message from Jones.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve got some good news and bad news. What do you want first? Okay, the bad news: I\u2019ve broken my wrist, so unfortunately we won\u2019t be doing any shows for a while,\u201d the musician wrote.<\/p>\n \u201cThe good news is the surgeon said I will be back playing guitar in the not-too-distant future. The other good news is I\u2019ll be 70 tomorrow,\u201d Jones wrote. \u201cGod bless, and God save the wrist.\u201d<\/p>\n The Sex Pistols\u2019 tour, which was slated to start on Sept. 16, will be rescheduled when Jones has fully recovered.<\/p>\n \u201cPlease check local venue websites and our social media for more information,\u201d Carter wrote. \u201cWe appreciate your understanding and support.\u201d<\/p>\n The Sex Pistols announced their fall tour back in April<\/a>. The North American shows are the band\u2019s first since 2003, according to the Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n The new shows will feature original band members Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock. Carter, who fronted a few U.K. shows for the Sex Pistols last year, took over for original lead singer Johnny Rotten, from whom the band is estranged<\/a>.<\/p>\n Rotten, who the rest of the Sex Pistols did not want on the tour, has publicly clashed with his former bandmates repeatedly over the years, including suing over the 2022 FX TV series \u201cPistol\u201d that was based on a memoir by Jones.<\/p>\n \u201cThe last thing he wants to do is have anything to do with us right now,\u201d Jones told the AP while referring to the lawsuit<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cGood luck to him,\u201d Matlock told the news outlet. \u201cI wish he thinks, maybe, \u2018good luck\u2019 to us. Probably doesn\u2019t.
