New York Yankees<\/span><\/a> rookie pitcher Cam Schlittler is going viral for something that happened during Saturday\u2019s game with the Chicago White Sox.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The moment has nothing to do with his performance on the field, but the way Yankees broadcaster Ryan Ruocco mispronounced part of his name.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

Schlttler, who started the game, went six innings before being removed for a relief pitcher. With four hits, one walk and only one earned run, he did good enough to earn this bit of praise from Ruocco:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cMore quality Schlitt from Cam,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

However, things went crappy for Ruocco (and Schlittler, sort of) as the game stretched into the 11th inning.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

That\u2019s when Ruocco made an unforced error while offering a brief recap of what had happened so far:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cThis game, started by Cam Shi- \u2026 sh, sh \u2026 Schlittler,\u201d Ruocco said, before chucking slightly and conceding the truth.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cBound to happen one time,\u201d he admitted.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

He said the mistake is common, but most people close to him, including people in the Yankees\u2019 clubhouse, just call him \u201cSchlitt.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just a tough last name,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

YES play-by-play announcer Michael Kay admits Schlittler\u2019s name is \u201cfraught with peril,\u201d especially since his 100-mph fastball and 2.61 ERA mean he could be a part of the Yankees for a while.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

\u201cI figure the more times you say \u2018Schlittler,\u2019 the better chance you have of messing it up,\u201d Kay told the Athletic.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
