Mike Tyson<\/strong> and Floyd Mayweather<\/strong> are putting their gloves back on.<\/p>\n

The retired boxing legends will meet again in the ring next year for an exhibition fight, Tyson, 59, confirmed via social media<\/a> on Thursday September 4.<\/p>\n

\u201cComing soon,\u201d Tyson captioned his post, which featured a promo poster for the fight that reads \u201cLegend vs Legend\u201d alongside the words \u201csigned\u201d and \u201c2026.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen CSI came to me about stepping in the ring with Floyd Mayweather, I thought, \u2018No way this happens,\u2019 but, Floyd said yes,\u201d Tyson said in a press release<\/a>. \u201cThis fight is something neither the world nor I ever thought would or could happen. However, boxing has entered a new era of the unpredictable \u2014 and this fight is as unpredictable as it gets. I still can\u2019t believe Floyd wants to really do this. It\u2019s going to be detrimental to his health, but he wants to do it, so it\u2019s signed and it\u2019s happening!\u201d<\/p>\n

According to TMZ<\/em>,<\/a> the match \u2014 which will be put on by CSI Sports\/Fight Sports \u2014 is set to take place next spring, however the exact date, location and broadcast details are still TBD.<\/p>\n

However, Mayweather, 48, is already promising a fight to remember.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been doing this for 30 years and there hasn\u2019t been a single fighter that can tarnish my legacy,\u201d Mayweather said in the press release. \u201cYou already know that if I am going to do something, it\u2019s going to be big and it\u2019s going to be legendary. I\u2019m the best in the business of boxing. This exhibition will give the fans what they want.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tyson retired from the sport in 2005 but returned in November 2024 for what many dubbed a painful loss to Jake Paul<\/strong> on Netflix.<\/p>\n

Mayweather stepped away from professional boxing in 2017 after a TKO win over Conor McGregor<\/strong>. He\u2019s since appeared in several exhibition matches, including one against John Gotti III<\/strong> last August.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
