\u201cJenna and I are good now, but it was a painful break to have that fall apart, especially being so young,\u201d Tatum said in an interview with Variety<\/a>, published earlier this week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cWe tried to keep it together, tried for a year and a half,\u201d he said. The two eventually parted ways in 2018. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIt\u2019s in the past,\u201d he added, before talking about co-parenting with Dewan. \u201cBut it\u2019s really tough not to have your daughter half the time. I wish I could just have her all the time.\u201d <\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI don\u2019t think I would\u2019ve ever done the work, I think, on myself in the way that I had to do the work on myself to really try to figure out what\u2019s next,\u201d he said in a 2023 interview<\/a> with Vanity Fair.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cI think we told ourselves a story when we were young, and we just kept telling ourselves that story, no matter how blatantly life was telling us that we were so different,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Tatum met Dewan on the set of their hit movie, \u201cStep Up,\u201d in 2006. The two got married three years later.
