The release date for the upcoming \u201cBluey\u201d movie from Disney and BBC Studios has been revealed.<\/p>\n
The CG-animated feature film based on the hit Australian animated children\u2019s series is set for a global theatrical release on Aug. 6, 2027. After hitting theaters, the \u201cBluey\u201d film will be available to stream on Disney+ and on ABC iview and ABC Kids in Australia.<\/p>\n
More from Variety<\/strong><\/p>\n The \u201cBluey\u201d movie is written and directed by series creator Joe Brumm and is a Ludo Studio production. It will feature voice talent from the series, including Melanie Zanetti as Bluey\u2019s mom Chilli and David McCormack as dad Bandit. Richard Jeffrey (\u201cBluey\u201d Seasons 1-3) will co-direct with Amber Naismith (\u201cHappy Feet,\u201d \u201cThe Lego Movie\u201d) producing. Series composer Joff Bush will provide the score.<\/p>\n According to a press release when the film was announced, it will \u201ccontinue the adventures of Bluey, a lovable, inexhaustible, blue heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo.\u201d Since its 2018 premiere, the series has grown into a global phenomenon, winning Emmy and BAFTA awards and becoming the most-watched series worldwide on Disney+ in 2024.<\/p>\n Brumm is executive producing the \u201cBluey\u201d movie alongside Charlie Aspinwall and Daley Pearson for Ludo Studio and Justine Flynn for BBC Studios. David Greenbaum, president of Disney Live Action and 20th Century Studios, will oversee the film for Disney.<\/p>\n BBC Studios is financing and licensing the film with theatrical distribution through Walt Disney Studios.
