Jenny Han<\/strong><\/a> isn\u2019t holding back when it comes to critics of The Summer I Turned Pretty<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The showrunner, executive producer, and author behind the hit Prime Video series took to TikTok<\/a> after fans slammed Season 3, Episode 9 as a so-called \u201cfiller\u201d episode.<\/p>\n

After the September 3 episode aired, one fan commented on TikTok<\/a>, \u201cJenny we don\u2019t have time for this, there\u2019s two episodes left and you gave us NOTHING this episode.\u201d According to a screenshot shared to Reddit, Han clapped back with a pointed response: \u201cI gave you the last 4 years of my life. I have given all I have to give, enjoy!\u201d<\/p>\n

Episode 9 followed the fallout from Belly and Jeremiah\u2019s canceled wedding. The bulk of the hour showed Jeremiah drowning his sorrows and dealing with a hangover, Belly tracking down her stolen backpack in Paris, and Steven rekindling his romance with Taylor. For those rooting for Conrad, however, the episode didn\u2019t deliver much.<\/p>\n

Plenty of viewers voiced their frustration online. One TikTok user complained, \u201cjenny, we need to talk about episode 9 bc why did i watch jeremiah in bed for 40 minutes.\u201d Another joked, \u201cJenny, this episode could\u2019ve been an email.\u201d<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time Han has pushed back against fan backlash. Just one week earlier, Episode 8 ended with Belly and Conrad both at the airport \u2014 Belly heading to Paris and Conrad waiting for a flight to California. Some fans immediately questioned the realism of the scene, pointing out that international and domestic flights usually leave from different terminals.<\/p>\n

Han quickly shut that critique down, too. On Instagram, she shared a screenshot from massport.com explaining that while Boston Logan\u2019s Terminal E is the main international terminal, \u201cinternational departures may leave from any of Boston Logan\u2019s four terminals.\u201d She paired the proof with Dua Lipa\u2019s \u201cBlow Your Mind,\u201d making it clear she wasn\u2019t about to let the detail slide.<\/p>\n

Despite the criticism, the fan frenzy around the show hasn\u2019t slowed down. Team Conrad and Team Jeremiah debates remain fiery across TikTok, Reddit, and Twitter, while Belly\u2019s journey continues to divide the audience.<\/p>\n
