Well, you\u2019d be wrong. It\u2019s just been announced that these two series from the popular procedural franchise will cross over on the <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cinemablend.com\/television\/2025-tv-premiere-date-schedule-upcoming-new-returning-shows\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:2025 TV schedule;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">2025 TV schedule<\/a> this fall, and I\u2019m excited by the premise that brings them together.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">No, time travel doesn\u2019t suddenly exist in the <em>NCIS<\/em>-verse, allowing Austin Stowell\u2019s younger Leroy Jethro Gibbs to leap forward to 2025 and meet the people he\u2019ll one day work alongside in Washington DC. Instead, this crossover, which will happen Tuesday, November 11, will see the <em>Origins<\/em> team in 1992 investigating the small-town death of a naval officer, and then that case will be reopened more than 30 years later for the <em>NCIS<\/em> team to look into. Watch Stowell and <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/wilmer-valderrama-mainstay-ncis-days-181256270.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Wilder Valderrama, who plays Nick Torres on NCIS;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">Wilder Valderrama, who plays Nick Torres on <em>NCIS<\/em><\/a>, announce the big news:<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">This news legitimately took me by surprise, though it\u2019s certainly not unwelcome. Because Mark Harmon made <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/ncis-producer-remembers-thinking-mark-122848393.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:his last appearance on NCIS early into Season 19;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">his last appearance on <em>NCIS<\/em> early into Season 19<\/a>, I figured that nixed the chances of it directly overlapping with <em>NCIS: Origins<\/em> since Gibbs was no longer around. Clearly I was mistaken, as the writers behind both shows have come up with this murder case connect them. Also, it\u2019s important to note that in order to properly tell this story, <em>NCIS<\/em> and <em>Origins<\/em> will switch time slots, with the prequel coming before the main show instead of afterwards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">So evidently this case won\u2019t be neatly wrapped up by the time the <em>NCIS: Origins<\/em> part is over, although I\u2019ll be curious to see if Gibbs, Mike Franks and the others are aware there are loose ends or if they\u2019ll believe the case is open and shut. Regardless, it\u2019ll be up to the <em>NCIS<\/em> investigators to bring closure to this case after it\u2019s reopened for whatever reason. I\u2019m also now wondering if the <em>NCIS<\/em> portion of the crossover could include special flashbacks of <em>Origins<\/em> characters as a way to further emphasize the special nature of this episode.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">As far as what fans can expect from these two shows individually in the 2025-2026 broadcast TV season, <em>NCIS: Origins<\/em> Season 2 will follow up on Lala\u2019s status after she was caught in a car crash in the Season 1 finale. <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.yahoo.com\/entertainment\/tv\/articles\/ncis-origins-bringing-young-ducky-182005674.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:Adam Campbell will also reprise Donald \u201cDucky\u201d Mallard;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas;outcm:mb_qualified_link;_E:mb_qualified_link;ct:story;\" class=\"link  yahoo-link\">Adam Campbell will also reprise Donald \u201cDucky\u201d Mallard<\/a> in an episode titled \u201cThe Edge\u201d after having previously played the younger version of the late David McCallum\u2019s character in several <em>NCIS<\/em> episodes.
