Even though John Oates<\/strong> and Daryl Hall<\/strong> recently resolved their previous legal conflict, it seems the pair have no plans to make music together again anytime soon…or even talk to each other.<\/p>\n During a recent appearance on the Zach Sang Show<\/a>, Oates (who played guitar and sang alongside lead vocalist Hall in Hall & Oates) opened up about why he and his former bandmate decided to part ways following Hall’s 2023 lawsuit against Oates (who tried to sell his stake in their joint publishing company, Whole Oats Enterprises). The conflict was reportedly settled in August.<\/p>\n \u201cDaryl and I have amicably agreed to separate our business interests, that\u2019s the bottom line. We\u2019re both pursuing whatever it is that we want to pursue,” Oates said.<\/p>\n “We were partners for over 50 years and the partnership was predicated on a lot of things and we were kids (when) we entered into a business relationship that was quite frankly out of date,” he continued. “Because when you enter a business agreement that\u2019s 50 years old, and all of a sudden you\u2019re 70, you\u2019re not the same person and the business is not the same.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI wanted to make sure that I could at least see through my creative life in a way that was completely unencumbered and complete 100 per cent authentic to who I am right now,” Oates added, going on to say that the \u201cship has sailed\u201d on a reunion and wants fans to \u201cremember Hall & Oates in its prime.”<\/p>\n \u201cAs time went on, as we both got older and our life experiences changed, our relationships changed, then we started to not have the same goals anymore.
