Acclaimed comedian Jorma Taccone recently opened up about his 20-foot fall from a ladder that turned out to be near-fatal. The SNL star opened up about this on The Lonely Island & Seth Meyers Podcast. It was released on September 2, 2025. Here\u2019s what happened to the comedian.<\/p>\n
Jorma Taccone<\/a> was a part of Andy Samberg\u2019s The Lonely Island comedy trio. He revealed that this summer, he fell from a ladder and shattered his pelvis and suffered a detached sacrum.<\/p>\n Speaking about this on the podcast<\/a>, the comedian said, \u201cOne of the projects I wanted to do this summer was I wanted to build\u2026 there\u2019s a barn, and the back half of the barn has this big white wall,\u201d he continued, \u201cI was like, this is great, we can do a big mural\u2026I was painting this barn, and as a final touch, I was like, I should hang these lights that will go around the eve of the barn to highlight the barn\u2026I was doing that on the day.\u201d<\/p>\n But he had borrowed a ladder whose legs were \u201cnot good,\u201d and it ultimately led to a tumble that caused a near-fatal fall. \u201cIn this moment, my life flashes before my eyes, I\u2019m like, Oh no, I\u2019ve got to get off this ladder.\u201d He said, \u201cI had enough time as I\u2019m falling to be like, I\u2019m going to die.\u201d<\/p>\n He continued, \u201cI drop, I look over, I see the yard, I\u2019m like, This is going to hurt a lot\u2026I fall straight on my butt, taking all of the impact on my butt. Then I do a lot of screaming and cursing.\u201d He added, \u201cKeep in mind, it\u2019s my daughter\u2019s fifth birthday party, so it wasn\u2019t the coolest way to start the day.\u201d<\/p>\n Doctors told him that he would need over half a year to recover from the fall. But the encouraging update was that he would be able to walk within three to six months.<\/p>\n Thankfully, Taccone is better now and will hopefully recover soon.
