The Last Dinner Party<\/a> have shared a new single called \u2018The Scythe\u2019 \u2013 you can listen to it below.<\/p>\n The emotional track is the second preview of the London band\u2019s second studio album, \u2018From The Pyre\u2019<\/a>, which is due for release on October 17 via Island. I wrote it before I had known anything of grief or heartbreak, how a relationship ending feels exactly the same as that person dying,\u201d explained frontwoman Abigail Morris.<\/p>\n \u201cOnce you know how it feels to lose someone, you enter a new realm from which you can never return. You\u2019re trying to reach them telepathically through psychics or song lyrics (sometimes those two become the same), and sometimes they give you a reply.\u201d<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cIt can take nine years to realise you\u2019re even grieving at all but once you do, you see them everywhere \u2013 in a robin, in a street fox, in a Wim Wenders film. \u2018The Scythe\u2019 comes for everyone, and you shouldn\u2019t be afraid about what\u2019s on the other side.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019ll take you too\/ Take a long time\/ Limbs\u2019ll disconnect\/ Like the phone lines<\/em>,\u201d sings Morris over haunting organ chords, before making way for a chugging electric guitar line.
