Right in time for an after-school treat, musician Brady Rymer is releasing his latest fun-ciful song and video for kids, \u201cThe Friendliest Dinosaur.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rymer, a Southold resident and three-time Grammy Award-winning musician, has been pretty busy this year. In April, he released the seasonally apropos album \u201cSunny Side Up\u201d to kick off the warm weather and fun in the sun for families on the East End. <\/p>\n

Friday, Sept. 12, however, marks the release of his 14th studio album \u2014 the second in a single year \u2014 Baby Rhino<\/em>, and with it today a fun, upbeat video<\/a> for the album\u2019s song \u201cThe Friendliest Dinosaur\u201d for the kids (and T. Rex fans everywhere \u2014 the dino, not the musician) to clap and dance along to.<\/p>\n

And, perhaps, learn a few good vocabulary words for the school year: In one swift musical bar, Rymer rhymes \u201cprecocious,\u201d \u201cferocious,\u201d and \u201catrocious.\u201d As writers and editors, we can totally get behind that. <\/p>\n

\u201cI challenged myself to reconnect with a younger crowd in these songs, tapping back into the energy of my early days of making music for families, when my kids were little,\u201d says Rymer. \u201cI wanted\u00a0Baby Rhino<\/em>\u00a0to have a soundtrack \u2014 songs that would fit in their world and make little \u2018rhinos\u2019 everywhere sing, dance, and toot their own horns!\u201d <\/p>\n

The song is certainly a toe-tapper, and Rymer\u2019s happy-go-lucky strumming and general warmth are likely to grab the musical affections of wee ones, as with his prior collection of family-friendly songs.<\/p>\n

Also on Baby Rhino are tunes like \u201cHelicopter! Helicopter!\u201d, \u201cUh-Oh,\u201d \u2014 an ode to the little mistakes of childhood \u2014 \u201cUp and Down,\u201d Brady\u2019s taken the Grateful Dead song \u201cThe Monkey and the Engineer.\u201d <\/p>\n

Rymer\u2019s career began with the \u201990s jam band, From Good Homes, which was on RCA records and performed all over the world. With the birth of his son, Gus, in 2000, Rymer looked closer to home for musical inspiration and began penning songs inspired by his foray into parenthood. <\/p>\n
