Channing Tatum<\/a><\/strong> opened up about his first impression of Kirsten Dunst<\/a><\/strong> in a new interview. The pair recently co-starred in Roofman, directed by Derek Cianfrance, who co-wrote the screenplay with Kirt Gunn. The movie will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6, 2025, and will be theatrically released the following month.<\/p>\n In the crime drama, Tatum plays the notable real-life robber, Jeffrey Manchester. He is an ex-U.S. Army Reserve officer who became notorious for breaking into storefronts \u2014 mostly McDonald\u2019s \u2014 via their roofs.<\/p>\n Channing Tatum recently appeared in an interview where he discussed his experience filming Roofman. During the discussion, the 21 Jump Street actor opened up about his meeting and interaction with Kirsten Dunst. Tatum and Dunst met each other on set while filming a scene that involved their characters attending a singles mixer at Red Lobster.<\/p>\n \u201cShe\u2019s not a diva, where she could easily be, and have earned that,\u201d Tatum said of the Spider-Man actress to Variety<\/a>. \u201dAnd she\u2019s not. The actor \u2014 who gained weight for his role in Josephine \u2014 asked the director if he could trim his weight for Roofman, to which the cinematographer agreed. Cianfrance noted that Tatum \u201dshowed up to set 65 pounds lighter.\u201d<\/p>\n The Magic Mike star shared that he had gained 240 pounds. \u201cI was a big boy,\u201d he added. He said that he would shred 30 pounds \u201cin three weeks.\u201c Furthermore, he noted that he followed the \u201cmodel diet,\u201c which was basically \u201cstarving.\u201c<\/p>\n The 45-year-old praised his nutritionist and touched upon his dislike for vegetables. \u201cI have a great nutritionist, and she\u2019s helped me eat vegetables,\u201c he shared. \u201cI don\u2019t like vegetables. It\u2019s a texture thing.\u201c<\/p>\n Roofman will be theatrically released on October 10, 2025.
