Sheinelle Jones<\/a> is set to return to the “Today” show Friday, Sept. 5,<\/a> for the first time this year.<\/p>\n The cohost of the NBC morning franchise’s third-hour program is slated to sit down Sept. 5<\/a> with anchor Savannah Guthrie<\/a> to discuss the death of her husband Uche Ojeh<\/a>, who died in May from an aggressive form of brain cancer.<\/p>\n “It’s a beautiful nightmare,” Jones said of the tragedy<\/a>.<\/p>\n The “Today” show revealed<\/a> Sept. 2 that Jones would be back on the air later in the week. Craig Melvin<\/a> said the staff was “so excited” to announce her return, while Guthrie noted that “she and her family have been through so much.”<\/p>\n “We cannot wait to welcome Sheinelle home, right where she belongs,” Guthrie said, adding, “She’s coming back, and she’s ready.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
