Raegan Revord<\/a> changed their social media pronouns to \u201cthey\/them\u201d back in January 2025, but until now, the Young Sheldon<\/em><\/a> star hadn\u2019t spoken publicly about their gender identity.<\/p>\n In an interview with Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a>, while promoting their debut novel, Rules for Fake Girlfriends<\/em>, Revord was asked about coming out as nonbinary and how it felt to finally live as their authentic, truest self.<\/p>\n \u201c[It\u2019s] so cool because growing up, whenever I would see a celebrity or whoever come out as nonbinary or queer or anything, I was like, \u2018Oh my God, this is so cool, I see myself in you,’\u201d Revord said.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd now it\u2019s so crazy to have that experience where I\u2019m now that person, and there might be a kid somewhere who\u2019s like, \u2018Oh my God, like, I see myself in you,’\u201d the Georgie & Mandy\u2019s First Marriage<\/em><\/a> star continued. \u201cThat\u2019s such an insane thing to think, because I was in that kid\u2019s shoes at some point in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n On Tuesday (September 2), Revord released their debut book, a young-adult rom-com novel about a college student navigating her first year abroad, first love, first loss, and finding her place in the world. The novel is a queer love story, something Revord said was \u201csuper important\u201d to them.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s crazy to say, like, \u2018growing up,\u2019 because I\u2019m only 17,\u201d Revord stated. \u201cBut even in 2014 or whatever, when I was getting more into reading, and broadening my horizons, and reading stories and watching TV and stuff, there wasn\u2019t a lot of queer representation, even 10 years ago, which is crazy to say.\u201d<\/p>\n After early roles in Modern Family<\/em><\/a>, Grace and Frankie<\/em><\/a>, and Teachers<\/em><\/a>, Revord rose to fame playing Missy Cooper, Sheldon\u2019s (Iain Armitage<\/a>) fraternal younger twin sister, on The Big Bang Theory<\/em><\/a> spinoff Young Sheldon<\/em>. They appeared in all seven seasons from 2017 to 2024.<\/p>\n Since Young Sheldon<\/em> wrapped up its run last year, Revord has reprised the role of Missy in a recurring part in the spinoff Georgie & Mandy\u2019s First Marriage<\/em>, which focuses on the marriage of Georgie Cooper and Mandy McAllister.<\/p>\n Revord had just finished filming an episode of the CBS sitcom when they sat down for the ET interview, saying, \u201cIt was a lot of fun. It was great. I missed everyone so much. And it\u2019s a great storyline.\u201d<\/p>\n While they\u2019re now focused on writing, including plans for a fantasy novel<\/a>, Revord said they are always open to reprising the role in the future. \u201cI love Missy so much,\u201d they said. \u201cI couldn\u2019t say no.\u201d<\/p>\n
