Before \u201cHome Alone<\/a>\u201d turned Macaulay Culkin<\/a> into a child actor icon, it was \u201cUncle Buck<\/a>\u201d (released in theaters one year before) that first put the young star on the map. The John Hughes<\/a>-directed comedy was headlined by John Candy<\/a> as a reckless bachelor who is forced to babysit his nieces and nephews. In the new documentary \u201cJohn Candy: I Like Me<\/a>,\u201d which opened the Toronto International Film Festival, Culkin remembers Candy\u2019s kindness on set and reveals Candy was one of the first people to notice there was trouble brewing at home.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think that\u2019s why that\u2019s one of my favorite performances, because I think he put a lot of himself into it,\u201d Culkin says (via Entertainment Weekly<\/a>). \u201c[Most actors] don\u2019t know how or don\u2019t like to work with kids\u2026 they\u2019re tricky to work with, but John was always really kind, and really good.
