WESTPORT, CT \u2014 The third annual Colorectal Cancer Alliance Bottoms Up\u00ae Invitational Golf Tournament & Concert<\/a>, hosted by Today Show anchor Craig Melvin and his wife, award-winning sportscaster Lindsay Czarniak, who are Westport residents, is scheduled for Sept. 14 and 15. The two-day fundraiser is in honor of Craig\u2019s brother, Lawrence Meadows, who died from colorectal cancer at the young age of 43.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n More than just a gathering of celebrities, the event shines a spotlight on an urgent cause. Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S. and is rising sharply among adults under 50. It is now the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in men under 50, despite being preventable and highly treatable if caught early with timely screening.
