The Duchess of Kent was an \u201cadvocate for children and young people\u2019s welfare\u201d, the Archbishop of York has said following her death at 92.<\/p>\n
The duchess –\u00a0Katharine Lucy Mary Worsley – was born in Hovingham and attended Queen Margaret\u2019s School in Escrick.<\/p>\n
She married Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, at York Minster in June 1961.<\/p>\n

She taught and encouraged generations of young musicians.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cShe was held in high esteem by all who met her and knew her,\u201d Mr Cottrell added.<\/p>\n \u201cI pray for the repose of her soul and that HRH The Duke of Kent, their children and all the royal family may know the consolation and comfort that comes from our common Christian faith.
