Dierks Bentley<\/strong> says he and his wife of nearly 20 years, Cassidy<\/strong>, no longer share a bedroom \u2014 and it\u2019s by choice. The 49-year-old country singer revealed the unusual arrangement during a candid chat on Bobby Bones<\/strong>\u2019 BobbyCast<\/em><\/a> this week.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I do get off the road<\/a>, it\u2019s like the No. 1 priority,\u201d Bentley said of his sleep routine once he returns to family life. \u201cMy wife will be like, \u2018How\u2019d you sleep last night?\u2019 And we don\u2019t even sleep in the same room right now anymore. We\u2019ve moved beyond that.\u201d<\/p>\n Bentley explained that his sleep quirks \u2014 including his reliance on three perfectly positioned pillows \u2014 clash with Cassidy\u2019s habit of dozing off instantly. \u201cAll of a sudden she\u2019ll jerk,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018You got to be kidding me. You\u2019re already out?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n On the podcast, Bentley said that years ago he decided to \u201cseparate church and state\u201d by getting rid of their shared bed. Instead, he set up two platform beds with separate mattresses and box springs so Cassidy could \u201cmove around all she wants.\u201d More recently, Cassidy has been opting for the couch or a spare room when Bentley\u2019s restless sleep gets too disruptive.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s terrible,\u201d Bentley admitted, before noting the couple\u2019s plan to return to the same bedroom by year\u2019s end.<\/p>\n The pair married in December 2005 and share three children.<\/p>\n \u201cWe met in eighth grade, back in Arizona. It\u2019s a pretty crazy story of just going back and forth with the right time or the wrong time, or right place, wrong time, all that stuff,\u201d Dierks previously told The Boot<\/em><\/a>. \u201cFinally, I was playing a show in Las Vegas, and opening for George Strait, and she walked on the bus.
