PinkPantheress<\/a> made her Tiny Desk concert debut at the NPR offices on Friday (Sept. 5), and did so in a new way as she stripped the signature Auto-Tune from her vocals.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old admitted that she thought about backing out since she couldn\u2019t have her vocals properly adjusted, but figured out a way to work around the tuning and fans are happy she did.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is my first performance I\u2019ve done with no tuning,\u201d she told the crowd. \u201cI\u2019ve never sang with no tuning before so this is really scary. I nearly didn\u2019t do this because the NPR people were like, \u2018You can\u2019t use anything.\u2019 Then I was like, \u2018Let me try to figure it out and see how it goes.’\u201d<\/p>\n

In her classic tartan outfit, Pink jumped around her compact discography throughout the eight-track set. She took it back to 2021 for stripped-down versions of \u201cAtracted to You,\u201d which saw her play the harmonica, and \u201cPain.\u201d<\/p>\n

The singer reimagined her viral TikTok hit \u201cIllegal\u201d into a jazzier version of the track, which hit No. 96 on the Billboard Hot 100.<\/p>\n

The rest of PinkPantheress\u2019 set included Heaven Knows\u2018 \u201cThe Aisle,\u201d \u201cPassion\u201d and a ringtone transition to Fancy That standout \u201cTonight,\u201d which mixes in burly guitar riffs and an interpolation of the chorus from her \u201cBoys a Liar.\u201d<\/p>\n

During her interview with Billboard <\/a>earlier this year, Pink explained how she feels her music is meant for more intimate settings rather than arenas.<\/p>\n

\u201cI still don\u2019t think my music belongs in an arena,\u201d she said. \u201cI think my music belongs in a more intimate setting. As an artist, I think my fanbase appreciates more intimate settings.\u201d<\/p>\n
