The next Superman<\/span> movie, Man of Tomorrow<\/strong><\/a>, has officially been announced, and in a recent social media post, a comic book writer revealed they brought an idea for a movie with the same exact title.<\/p>\n

In a recent post on Threads, Eric M. Esquivel<\/a>, a comic book writer who has worked on Superman books in the past, revealed that he and Dan Harmon<\/span> (the creator of Community, Rick and Morty, and more) pitched a solo movie starring Lex Luthor to Warner Bros. in 2018.<\/p>\n

The movie\u2019s title, Esquivel revealed, was also Man of Tomorrow, and would revolve around Luthor having \u201cface blindness\u201d (which he says Harmon also has) and would be about why Luthor doesn\u2019t recognize that Superman is Clark Kent.<\/p>\n

Esquivel also joked that HBO\u2019s Peacemaker series also featured \u201cbird blindness\u201d as a plot point, something he noted as \u201cfunny.\u201d Despite the post, Esquivel said that he doesn\u2019t believe Gunn stole anything from him. On the contrary, Esquivel said, his idea was one he believes many have likely had in the past<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What do we know about Man of Tomorrow?<\/h2>\n

Man of Tomorrow will once again be directed by Gunn, based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. It will feature the return of\u00a0David Corenswet<\/a>\u00a0as Superman\/Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.<\/p>\n

At the moment, it\u2019s still unclear which cast members from the first installment would also be returning for the sequel. Following the project\u2019s official announcement, rumors started circulating online about its potential cast members and plot. Recent reports suggested that\u00a0Jason Momoa\u00a0<\/a>might appear as Lobo, along with Milly Alcock\u2019s Supergirl.<\/p>\n

Superman also starred Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen, Wendell Pierce as Perry White, Mikaela Hoover as Cat Grant, Beck Bennett as Steve Lombard, Mar\u00eda Gabriela de Far\u00eda as The Engineer, Sara Sampaio as Eve Teschmacher, Anthony Carrigan as Metarmorpho, Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Edi Gathegi, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, and more. Since its release, the movie has received a Certified Fresh rating of 83% on Rotten Tomatoes.
