Back in July, his first album in four years,<em> Swag<\/em>, came with little fanfare or promotion, and today he released its companion, <em>Swag II<\/em>, in the same way.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Swag II<\/em> was announced less than 24 hours before it was expected to release, dropping in the middle of the night (around 3 a.m. ET\/12 a.m. PT) and fans woke up to 23 new songs that expanded the world of the album&#8217;s precursor.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>LISTEN | Swag II album opener, Speed Demon: <\/strong><\/em><span><span class=\"youtube\"><\/p>\n<div class=\"jeg_video_container jeg_video_content\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Justin Bieber - SPEED DEMON (Audio)\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7h9a_0opSIQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Bieber is still grappling with his marriage, parenthood, and the public&#8217;s perception of his personal life on <em>Swag II<\/em>, but where <em>Swag<\/em> was a sonic departure from his accessible pop and R&amp;B sensibilities, this companion album is closer to what listeners have come to expect from the star.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">One fan called it the grown-up version of Bieber&#8217;s 2014 album <a rel=\"nofollow\" target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=47YClVMlthI\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Journals<\/em><\/a>, the record that introduced &#8220;R&amp;Bieber&#8221; into the cultural lexicon.<\/p>\n<p><span><iframe title=\" custom content\" class=\"customHtml\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><em>Swag I <\/em>and <em>II <\/em>were written and recorded around the same time and include many of the same songwriters and producers. Carter Lang, Sir Dylan, Eddie Benjamin, Daniel Chetrit, Dijon, Mk.gee and Canadian songwriter Tobias Jesso Jr. all have production credits on both records.
