Cameron Diaz<\/a> is having a \u201cBad Day<\/a>,\u201d and she\u2019s doing it in New Jersey.<\/p>\n Diaz, who recently returned to acting, is starring in the Netflix action comedy.<\/p>\n The production, which will be filming locally this fall, is casting Jersey extras (see application info below).<\/p>\n The actor will play a single mom who is having the worst day<\/a> while trying to keep a promise to her daughter, per a July Hollywood Reporter description of the film.<\/p>\n Diaz rose to fame in the \u201990s, starring in movies like \u201cThere\u2019s Something About Mary<\/a>,\u201d \u201cThe Mask<\/a>,\u201d \u201cMy Best Friend\u2019s Wedding<\/a>,\u201d \u201cA Life Less Ordinary<\/a>\u201d and \u201cBeing John Malkovich<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n She went on to star in \u201cShrek<\/a>,\u201d \u201cThe Holiday<\/a>,\u201d \u201cCharlie\u2019s Angels<\/a>,\u201d \u201cGangs of New York<\/a>\u201d and \u201cBad Teacher<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n Diaz took a break from acting starting in the 2010s after she appeared in \u201cAnnie<\/a>,\u201d released in 2014 (she played Miss Hannigan).<\/p>\n CD<\/p>\n She married Benji Madden<\/a> from the band Good Charlotte<\/a> in 2015 and they welcomed a daughter, Raddix, in 2019 and a son, Cardinal, in 2024.<\/p>\n Diaz returned to film early this year in a Netflix movie that was actually titled \u201cBack in Action<\/a>,\u201d playing one half of a married couple of former CIA agents opposite Jamie Foxx<\/a> (her co-star from \u201cAnnie\u201d).<\/p>\n Her new movie, \u201cBad Day,\u201d is being directed by Jake Szymanski<\/a> (\u201cJury Duty,\u201d \u201cMike and Dave Need Wedding Dates\u201d).<\/p>\n Diaz, 53, is also set to appear in the Jonah Hill-directed Apple TV+ film \u201cOutcome<\/a>\u201d and reprise the role of Princess Fiona in \u201cShrek 5<\/a>,\u201d slated for a 2027 release.<\/p>\n Anyone interested in becoming an extra in \u201cBad Day\u201d can register with Grant Wilfley Casting at gwci.app\/talent<\/a> or email badday@gwcnyc.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n The casting company tells NJ Advance Media that most of the production will take place in New Jersey.<\/p>\n The movie is currently in need of bicycle riders 18 and older who have their own bicycles for scenes being filmed in New Jersey, tentatively Sept. 29 and 30 and Oct. 2, 3, 6 and 8.<\/p>\n The Diaz movie is among the many Netflix film and TV titles filming in Jersey, including the upcoming Jennifer Lopez movie<\/a> \u201cThe Last Mrs. Parrish<\/a>,” which is also casting local extras<\/a>, and Emmy winner Dan Levy<\/a>\u2019s (\u201cSchitt\u2019s Creek\u201d) new series \u201cBad Mistakes<\/a>,\u201d which has been filming in Edison<\/a>.<\/p>\n Thank you for reading.
